Dr. Darren L. Mitchell
Dr. Mitchell is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, certified by the Nevada Board of Chiropractic. He is recognized by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP) as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). His education and training include chiropractic manipulation, radiology, physiotherapy, nutrition, mechanical decompression and extensive sports chiropractic.
Dr. Mitchell is a native of the Northern Nevada area, graduating from Carson High School in 1983. He pursued his Bachelor of Science at Utah State and University of Nevada, Reno. He graduated chiropractic school as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1991 at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. He has had his practice in Carson City for over 20 years now.
Dr. Mitchell is very much into self-maintenance through nutrition and exercise. His exercise includes bicycling, water skiing, hiking, cross fit style training and weight lifting. His personal goals are to maintain his health through these avenues coupled with regular chiropractic care in order for him to continue his active lifestyle throughout his entire life. He hopes that maintaining his personal health will not only allow him to do this, but hopefully help others to recognize the importance of taking care of the only vehicle we all possess that can take us there, our Body!
Dr. Mitchell has a wealth of knowledge and is always excited to share it. All you need to do is ask! And if he doesn't have an answer at the tip of his tongue, he will do his best to find it for you.
Dr. Christenson is a licensed Chiropractic Physician certified by the Chiropractic Physician Board of Nevada and has been in practice in Carson City for the past 19 years. Dr. Christenson graduated from the Life Chiropractic College - West in 1992 with 'Summa Cum Laude' honors and is a member of the International Chiropractic Honor Society. His education and training includes, but is not limited to, multiple chiropractic techniques, orthopedics, neurology, radiology, physiotherapy, nutrition, non-surgical spinal decompression, and sports chiropractic.
Dr. Christenson has also completes additional studies in the treatment and management of whiplash injuries after completing the Whiplash Master Certification Program in 1999 through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. Dr. Christenson strives to stay current in Chiropractic and Medical research to combine with his years of training and experience to offer his patients the most current and effective treatment methods.
Dr. Christenson believes strongly in patient education and encourages questions. He is always eager to share his wealth of knowledge and experience to assist his patients in making informed decisions about their healthcare and taking a more active role in optimizing their health.
Outside of the office Dr. Christenson enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children and maintaining an active lifestyle. He enjoys playing golf, hiking, camping, skiing and exploring the great back country of Nevada.
Dr. Annette Cassity
Dr. Cassity has been in practice for 12 years, in the local area. She graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in 1999 as Valedictorian of her class. She utilizes a variety of techniques including, but not limited to Gonstead, Diversified, SOT, Activator, CBP, MPI, and Craniosacral. She uses a unique combination of techniques which are tailored to each patient's condition, body type and personal preferences. Dr. Cassity practices a true head to toe approach checking the entire spine as well as feet, ankles, knees, wrists, shoulders, elbows, wrists, ribs, etc. Her goal is for the entire body to function optimally with as little intervention and medication as possible.
Prior to becoming a licensed chiropractor Dr. Cassity worked in Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, at Bay Area Physical Therapy and had the opportunity to work with several professional sports teams and athletes including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A's, and the Florida Marlins. Dr. Cassity utilizes her physical therapy background with her patients still today, with specific exercises, neuromuscular reeducation and therapeutic modalities to increase the speed of healing and make recovery to an optimal state of health more attainable.
Dr. Cassity educates patients and makes recommendations based on her knowledge and experience. Dr. Cassity believes that the ultimate healthcare decision lies with the patient, she strives to allow the patient to make the most educated decision possible and welcomes any questions you may have.
